As the head of the U.S. Olympic committee, Lloyd Ward is passionate about amateur sports. You get the feeling when you are around him that he is a man on a mission. That is because he is on a mission, a mission to promote opportunities for amateur athletes.

Recently, Lloyd Ward visited South Florida. I was contacted by MTM Partners, a public relations and marketing firm, to create editorial images of Mr. Ward while in meetings with local business leaders and elected officials.

Photographing Mr. Ward is a photographer's dream come true. He is charismatic, articulate, and animated. Editorial work is unposed. In this type of work, the photographer documents a moment in time and lets the pictures tell the story. Mr. Ward makes it easy.

Creating the images in black and white allows the emotion of the moment to show through. It reminds me of the reason that I became a photographer in the first place.
