Angels 3

Angels 3 is a contemporary gospel singing group. When they contacted me they were in the process of completing their second CD. Being self-produced, they personally oversaw every phase of the production of the project, even the photography. Angels 3 contacted me after they searched the internet for a photographer to shoot the cover images. We were selected because they felt that my creative style would contribute to their project.

The concept for the image evolved during our initial meeting. Angels 3 knew that they a 1960's vintage convertible car in the image, preferably red in color. Beyond that, they were not sure about what they wanted to image to look like.

Somewhere during the conversation, one of the singers asked if it would be possible to have 'angels' in the picture with them. If so, the ladies wanted three men who are special to them to act as the angels. It was at this point that I pre-visualized three ethereal figures, semi-transparent, with a heavenly glow.

Mizner Park, in Boca Raton was selected as the location of the shoot. The shoot was going well when a security guard approached to tell us that we could not shoot in that location without prior written approval. I could see the look of disappointment on the singer's faces. Then, I saw the delight as I produced a county permit from my pocket, giving us permission to shoot at that location.

The CD is complete now and the girls were nice enough to send me a copy. Prior to receiving the CD, I had not heard the ladies sing. Angels 3 rocks and rolls. They perform their ministry through their music.
